You will cross the Continental Divide!

Atigun Pass – at mile marker 244, you will cross the Continental Divide as you climb 4,739 feet (1,444m) in elevation.

The Atigun Pass is the highest point on the Dalton Highway and is the highest pass in Alaska.

Keep a keen eye out for Dall sheep gracefully navigating the mountain slopes.

The entire route is easily passable at a good speed!

The surface along the Alaska-Divide route varies, ranging from some good parts of newly paved smooth roads to dirt roads and gravel.

The entire route is easily passable at a good speed. Last year, the fastest rider reached the finish line in Deadhorse after covering 1056 miles ( 1700km) in 5 days and 10 hours.

1680km (1050mile) unsupported bikepacking adventure from Anchorage to Deadhorse. Considered the Last Frontier of North America, Alaska is home to the most unrelenting weather, the most dangerous predators, and most remote wilderness of the continent. Congratulations to Andi Buchs for his amazing achievement!

Andi Buchs is the fourth rider to successfully finished the route of 1050miles from Anchorage to Deadhorse in 8 days and 12 hours.

That is an impressive time knowing that he carried extra gear along the way including a laptop and camera to document the wilderness and beautiful spots of the route.
