With just days to go before the start of the 2026 Alaska Divide, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event and reschedule it for 2027.
This decision follows an exceptional and deeply difficult week for the Alaska Divide community.
Last weekend, a tragic fatality occurred within the family of two of our registered riders from Italy. At the same time, another registered rider was involved in a collision with a car. Thankfully, he is okay, just some bumps and bruises, but his bicycle was destroyed in the accident.
Under these circumstances, with only a very small number of riders still able to take part, we believe that postponing the 2026 edition is the right and responsible decision. The decision was made together with the remaining riders, who fully supported the decision to postpone the event.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these events.
We will return in 2027 and look forward to bringing the Alaska Divide back to the road, trails and wilderness of Alaska — with the same spirit of adventure, self-reliance and respect that has defined the event from the beginning.
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the Alaska Divide.
See you in Alaska in 2027.
